How to make a pair of seed bead earrings - step 1

Step One

Sort out the three colours of super duo's, matt grey, galvanized silver and bronze. Cut approx 1 metre of wildfire and thread a beading needle to one end. Pick up one matt gold super duo, one cranberry seed bead. Repeat three times so you have four of each bead on the thread leaving a long tail of approx 23cms

Step Two

Pass the needle through all of the beads again and bring them together to form a circle then pass the needle through the next three beads exiting out of a super duo.

Step Three

Step up by passing the needle up through the outer hole of the same super duo.

Step Four

Pick up three matt grey super duo's passing the needle through the outer hole of the super duo of the previous row.

Step Five

Repeat step four adding three matt grey super duo's to complete the round, finish by passing the needle through the beads again exiting out of a set of three of the matt grey super duo's and step up as in step three.

Step Six

Pick up a turquoise seed bead pass the need through the top of the super duo add another turquoise bead and pass the needle through the next super duo. Pick up three galvanized silver beads and pass the needle through the next super duo, pick up a turquoise bead pass the needle through the next super duo pick up another turquiose bead and pass the needle through the next super duo.

Step Seven

Pick up two matt bronze super duo's then pass the needle through the next super duo. Continue to add beads to mirror image the other side ending with the two bronze super duo's . Pass the needle around all the outer beads exiting the bronze super duo's. Step up and add one bronze super duo and pass the needle through the next super duo.

Step Eight

Add two galvanized gold seed beads and pass the needle through all the outer beads working your way around and exiting out of the last turquoise bead, pick up two galvanised silver beads, pass the needle through the next super duo. Repeat adding the seed beads to mirror image the outer edge.

Step Nine

Work the threads around the work by passing the needle through beads to reinforce the piece. Make a couple of slip knots to secure the ends and trim off the ends .

Step Ten

Using approx 8cms of 0.6mm wire make a wrapped loop adding to the super duo at the point of the piece.

Step Eleven

Add a matt gold, cranberry, matt gold and finish with another wrapped loop.

Step Twelve

Add a shepherd hook to complete the earring and repeat all steps to make another earring.
