Studio Floor Manager

As a Floor Manager you will be required to make sure that TV production goes according to plan and that everyone involved in the production knows what they have to do and when they have to do it. Reporting to the on shift Director and Production Manager the likely candidate will be interested in broadcast and studio work and willing to learn in a fast paced environment.

Accountabilities

  • Supervising the setting up of equipment — screens, chairs, props, microphones and technical gear

  • Taking direction from the gallery and following the narrative of the show

  • Being reactive to the presenter and producer in the studio

  • Giving cues and time counts to presenters and crew

  • Liaising with the producer and director and relaying instructions between the control room and studio staff

  • Dealing with technical problems and any last minute changes

  • Checking on health and safety requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies Candidates will be required to command excellent communication and organisational skills, work well within an existing team structure, have a proven ability to learn new skills and be passionate about TV.

We have an exciting opportunity to join the JewelleryMaker team as a Creative Show Planner.

You will be responsible for developing commercially driven crafting projects that attract new customers to crafting and jewellery making in addition to encouraging existing customers to buy increase their spend. You will manage a small team of freelance on-show demonstrators and brief them to make specific pieces that inspire and engage viewers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about crafting, with strong creativity and commercial awareness with an ability to spot trends to develop into a commercially viable product. This is an extremely fast paced, rewarding role working closely with every department to strict deadlines, requiring excellent organisation and time management skills.

JewelleryMaker is the UK’s only eCommerce and TV channel dedicated to jewellery making. JewelleryMaker is part of the Gemporia Craft Partnership and is owned by Gemporia, providing strong links to the gemstone industry.

Accountabilities

• Develop jewellery making kit ranges for several target audiences within the jewellery making/craft market that will inspire and engage our customers whilst being commercially focussed. These will be sold on our live craft TV shopping channel and online. • Manage a team of freelance jewellery designers to understand their jewellery making specialisms and create jewellery making kits which play to these strengths. • Maintain research on current market trends in both specific jewellery making mediums and generic themes including keeping an eye on what competitors are offering. • Contribute ideas to a calendar of themes for our live TV show and ensure each theme is supported by the right Guest Designer and product range to maximise sales. • Drive inspiration within our business by continually developing new ideas and sharing these with the wider team in order to grow our business in the craft of jewellery making.
• Create product briefs and ensure that they are shared with Buying Team on project/kit components, making product suggestions where necessary. • Liaise with other departments within the organisation to ensure show schedules are completed. • Brief the Marketing, Sales and Production team on key events and products, to ensure all departments are fully prepared for each show.

Product & Concept Developer

We have an exciting opportunity to join the JewelleryMaker team as a Product and Concept Developer working as part of our Buying & Merchandising Team based at our main office in Redditch.

You will be responsible for creating commercially driven jewellery making kits and developing new commercial opportunities in the jewellery making/craft market. The ideal candidate will be passionate about crafting, with strong creativity and commercial awareness and interested in product development. This is an extremely fast paced role working closely with the Guest Designer, Buying, Marketing and Sales teams to strict deadlines. As such excellent organisation and time management skills are essential.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSES You will work as part of the Product Development Team to build jewellery making kits that aim to attract new customers to the craft of jewellery making in addition to kits that encourage existing customers to increase their spend. You will manage a small group of freelance jewellery designers and brief them to make specific pieces that will inspire and engage customers. You will write show plans for each new craft that guides customers through a learning process with a new range of products and techniques each show in addition to creating innovative show themes and ideas that help the sales team sell-through existing products. You will work closely with the Buying Team to develop the product range of existing jewellery making mediums in addition to researching new crafts which you will build into affordable project kits. You will be commercially focussed, passionate, innovative, creative, a team-player and ideally have an interest in jewellery making and/or crafting. You will work closely with all aspects of our business, from briefing the Buying team on project plans, briefing designers on projects they need to make, working closely with our Marketing team to launch new products to informing the Sales Team on product launches. You will be well organised and be used to managing processes which will ensure your team exceed their targets whilst inspiring and engaging our customers. The role is extremely fast-paced and plans often change last-minute so the role would suit somebody who is flexible and cool-headed. The role can be extremely rewarding as you have the opportunity to manage your own group of designers and develop them to achieve greater sales.
