Step One
Cut approx 1.5m wildfire thread and add a size 10 needle to each end. Feed on a jumpring and 1 x 6mm shell pearl then cross the needles through the shell pearl in opposite directions. Feed the needles around again to strengthen it.
Step Two
Add another 6mm shell pearl to each thread then pick up one more 6mm shell pearl and pass both needles through it in opposite directions. Pull it tight to form the first section of your ladder weave technique.
Step Three
Add another 6mm shell pearl to each thread and then pass the needles in opposite directions through another 6mm shell pearl and pull tight. Then repeat this pattern until all the 6mm beads have been used up.
Step Four
Finish this off in the same way as step 1 where you add a jumpring and pass the needles in opposite directions through the last shell pearl several times and tie off the threads with two double knots each before trimming the threads.
Step Five
Cut another 1.5m of wildfire thread, add the needles to each end and repeat step 1 to attach a jumpring to one of the peacock green coloured 8mm shell pearls. Then pass one of the needles through the nearest 6mm mint shell pearl in the bottom of the first section. Add an 8mm peacock green Shell pearl to the other needle, then add on another 8mm shell pearl and cross the two needles over in opposite directions through it and pull tight. This is the first section of the second layer of ladder weave.
Step Six
Feed the needle closest to the 6mm beads through the bottom 6mm bead in the next section along. Add an 8mm peacock green shell pearl to the other thread, then add a further 8mm shell pearl and cross the needles in opposite directions through it to complete the next section. Repeat this pattern until you have used all of the 8mm shell pearls.
Step Seven
Cut another 1.5m of wildfire thread, add the needles to each end and add a 12mm peach coloured shell pearl. Repeat the pattern from step 6 passing the needle mearest the 8mm peacock green shell pearls through the bottom shell pearl in the first section. Add a 12mm peach shell pearl to the other needle, then take a further 12mm peach shell pearl and cross the needles over in opposite directions through it and pull tight.
Step Eight
Repeat the pattern passing one needle through the bottom 8mm shell pearl and the other through a 12mm peach shell pearl, then cross the threads over in opposite directions through another 12mm peach shell pearl until you reach the end of your design. Pass the needles back through some of the design for added security before tying off and trimming excess thread.
Step Nine
Add a 5cm length of chain to each of the four jumprings already attached. Take an open jumpring and connect the two ends of chain on the left of the design, and repeat this on the right hand side of the design.
Step Ten
Add a 3.5cm length of chain to the two open jumprings and close them on both sides. At the other ends of the 3.5cm lengths of chain add another jumpring and attach the bolt ring clasp to complete the bib style necklace.
